Although the main road goes through Kingston SE, it bypasses the centre of town, which is where this mosaic is. It adorns the wall of an outside shower in the Lions Park, close to the beach.
The mosaic depicts perhaps the most important industry in this area, cray fishing, along with a glimpse of life beneath the waves.
The glazed, ceramic wall tiles used were hand-cut by a team of local volunteers.
I completed the design in March 2015, with the finished work installed in July 2015.
