This mosaic was commissioned by the Faith Lutheran School in Tanunda to commemorated their 20th anniversary. Dimensions: 1200mm x 1500mm.
The design brief included the requirement to feature the existing logo for the 20th anniversary of the school and to include the names of 20 villages (care groups). The logo is the primary element in the design and I created a geometric background that holds the names of the villages and also contrasts with the logo’s colours, making it stand out. The lettering is water-slide transfers (decals) printed with enamel ink. The decals were applied to ceramic tiles and fired in a kiln, so the lettering is durable.
I began designing this mosaic in August 2005 and installed the work in October 2005.
