This project was an initiative of the Rural City of Murray Bridge and involved the making of two circular mosaic benches to be installed in Sturt Reserve. At the same time, the adjacent skate park was being painted and that part of the project was led by Sam Evans.
Kevin Kropinyeri worked with the kids to design one bench and the other bench was designed by Kev himself. My role was to redraw the designs as mosaic and teach tile cutting. Kev and I worked with high school students to fabricate the mosaics, working in the old Murray Bridge Railway Station.
I started work on this project in April 2009 and installed the mosaics onto the benches in June 2009. Each bench is 1900mm in diameter.
