Peterborough Community Garden Mosaics 2013

I enjoyed the drive to Peterborough, through South Australia's mid-north. I was driving up there to hold a two day tile-cutting workshop with a group of enthusiastic locals. In the back of my car were the working drawings for two mosaic table tops. After the workshop, I returned home and left them to it. Once the tile cutting was completed, I went back to Peterborough to help with the installation.

The tables were in a community garden - so the designs are based on garden produce and some of the wildlife that inhabits the area. The community garden is a delightful place - complete with a wood fired oven from which emerged many delicious pizzas!

The mosaics are made from hand-cut, glazed ceramic wall and floor tiles. The work was completed in June 2013.
