This project called for a different approach to mosaic. The client wished to recreate a Vietnamese Symbol that held meaning for her, by using broken blue and white crockery. I decided to embed the broken crockery in a bluish coloured mortar, essentially making my own tiles. To do this I needed to make formwork of the design, into which I put the mortar and the pieces of broken crockery.
I started working on this project in July 2011 and installed it in August 2011.
