This mosaic is located at the Ceduna Aboriginal Cultural Centre on the Eyre Highway in Ceduna. Dimensions: 2400mm x 1800mm.
The design is based on bush tucker and shows a range of plants and animals. As with the Seamen's Memorial Mosaic (also featured on this website), I mentored local artist, Chris Gascoyne, and worked with her and other local volunteers to create this artwork. During a two week workshop in March 2008, when I travelled to Ceduna to check on progress, a heat wave hit the town and it was over 38 degrees Celsius for the whole two weeks!
This mosaic is made from hand-cut, glazed ceramic wall and floor tiles. I started the design in January 2008 and installed the mosaic in July 2008.
