This work was commissioned for a private residence in Goolwa SA. It was my first mosaic commission and the tiles were mostly cut with a diamond-blade wet-saw. These days I’d just hand-cut the tiles because it’s just as quick and there’s a lot less noise!
The mosaic is about 6m x 3m and is made from glazed ceramic floor tiles. The design depicts pelicans flying over the South Lakes and Coorong in South Australia.
