This project was initiated by Mardi Jennings (a Sedan resident at the time) in 2008. The project involved me working with local volunteers to create mosaic artwork on the town’s obelisk, which sits in the middle of the ‘Sedan Town Triangle’ – a place where 6 roads all converge.
I designed the 4 panels in October 2009. The designs were based on features of the area. I ran a few workshops to share tile cutting skills with the volunteers in January 2010 and we installed the mosaics in April 2010.
Note: the photos of the finished work still have a grout smear on them so I guess I need to go back to Sedan and get some better photos!
